Warner Bros. Pictures is looking to make a feature based on super team the Justice League of America, hiring writing duo Kiernan and Michele Mulroney to write the script, reports Variety. It's the first major action the studio has taken on the project.

The feature film is bound to include some combination of DC's most iconic superheroes, although the studio wouldn't confirm which ones they might be. It's unlikely that the studio and DC Comics, a division of Warner, would opt to feature second-tier characters.

Since its inception in 1960, JLA has featured almost every major hero in the DC Comics universe, although the core team has largely remained the same: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.

The heroes typically band together to fight alien menaces or groups of supervillains.

"The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves," Warner president of production Jeff Robinov said in announcing the hiring of the Mulroneys.

The trade says that in taking on the ambitious project, Warner faces several conundrums.

Now that the Batman and Superman film franchises have been revived, does the studio go after Christian Bale (Batman Begins) and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) to star in a Justice League pic? The studio is also trying hard to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen.

To a large degree, casting will depend upon the story arc for the JLA feature and at what point in the superheroes' lives the plot takes place.

Yep et quelque chose me dit que le film pourrait etre mis (relativement )vite en route (genre pour 2010 ou 2011 Man of steel sortant en 2009)

Vu les prob récent (succés relatif , changement de directions soudains )J'ai l'impression que si la Warner se décide enfin a mettre en route ce film c pour miser dessus pour lancer ensuites les spin off sur Flash , Green lantern etc..Et c pas si con comme idée..

aprés quiii pour réaliser le film et a quel prix?

ps: Jennifer Connelly aurait pu etre trés bien , mais trop connu je pense a présent ..dans le sens ou déja , c pas évident que Bale soit la ..trop de stars seraient impossibles a gérer suite aprés suite.a mois que si ils se rendent a chaque fois tous dispo aux meme dates et que ils prennent juste une part des recettes ou qu'il touchent un salaire "minimal" a la ocean Eleven? Je dis ca en y croyant pas trop , trop d'enjeux sur ce genre de film pour pouvoir faire ca .

The strong chisme (rumor) around town today is that he is coming aboard to direct!

Compte tenu des expérimentations de mise en scène HAL-LU-CI-NANTES de Miller sur HAPPY FEET (un chef d'oeuvre pour ceux qui l'ont raté...), ça pourrait être l'une des meilleures nouvelles du moment !!!

de la j'en conclues que en effet la Warner s'active pour trouver leur réal et que Miller est interessé.. mais ils y a encore surement pas mal de modalités à voir sur le contrat .

Cela dit , je pense qu'il y a beaucoup de chances que Miller signe tout simplement parce que je suis sur que c'est est un fan : il me semble me souvenir d'une interview ou il le disait , et surtout vous savez comment s'appelle le QG des héros de Mad Max? le Hall of justice , comme celui de la league

C'est une excellente nouvelle, la JLA mérite largement son adaptation en film et un truc bien sérieux, réussi, a l'image de batman Begins, a la fois je suis super content et a la fois ca fou les boules quand au projet de la séquel de Superman Returns, enfin disons plutot que perso ca me dérange pas que la JLA passe avant la séquel de Superman Returns pour 2009, car ca peut profiter a la franchise de Sup par la suite ( si JLA marche ) tout en lancant une nouvelle superbe franchise ( je l'espere ) a la seule condition que la séquel de Superman ne soit pas avorter! seulement reporter, le temps de boucler celle de la JLA, mais si la séquel de Superman est carrément avorter, ou remanier ( new cast, new direction artistique, new réal ) ca me peinerait.

J'espere que les deux se feront, et chacune sans empieter l'une sur l'autre, genre The Man of Steel pour 2009 et JLA pour 2010 ou bien, la JLA pour 2009 et The Man of Steel pour 2010.


Après attendons la suite des news sur le projet, car je suis curieux de savoir qui veulent ils faire apparaitre dans la franchise, car si FLASH ou Green Lantern ou Wonder Woman, sont dedans sans avoir eu leurs propres franchises solo respectives pour les presentés, je crains que ca puisse deservir et les perso et l'impact de la franchise JLA, tout en sachant aussi que le batman de Nolan etant bien personnel a Nolan, ne peut apparaitre dans la franchise de la JLA, donc comment vont ils faire? un new Batman ? et la question ultime, Superman = Brandon Routh ? "

So will George Miller direct Justice League of America? JLA is a high priority for Warner Bros. but their decision is not yet final, what the IESB was able to confirm today is that George Miller is a hopeful director but wait, there is…another...


Let’s give El Mayimbe and Frosty credit for breaking Miller’s name as a potential director for the potential ensemble superhero film but nothing is ever quite certain in Hollywood until the camera rolls.

A few months ago, the IESB confirmed that Batman would be part of the Justice League film and would indeed be the anchor of the superhero team. The team as it’s envisioned by Warner Bros. is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern and possibly Aquaman.

The first JLA draft from Kiernan and Michele Mulroney has been received by WB execs with open arms and they believe that it will be DC’s first real response to Marvel’s big screen ensemble success.

George Miller is one of two directors that WB is looking at and the second is none other than Joseph McGinty Nichol, A.K.A McG.

Yep, McG, the man that almost directed the big screen return of Superman just a few short years ago might finally get his chance to direct his first Superhero film. IESB sources are stating that WB would be happy with either George Miller or McG for Justice League of America.

I like George Miller, Road Warrior is a totally awesome film. Happy Feet? Well, I’m not a big fan of dancing penguins. Can he handle the JLA? Probably, but it’s been years since he did the last Mad Max film or anything that can even resemble the action that an ensemble superhero team would require.

So can McG handle the Bat, Supes and the rest of the gang? I know that a lot of fanboys love to trash McG’s work but I think we can all agree that no one wants to see a Charlie’s Angels type film for the JLA.

I was privy to some footage back when McG was working on Superman and was able to see the costumes that he had in mind, they were horrendous. They were the most hideous things that I have ever seen but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t matured as a filmmaker and that with the success of recent comic book adaptations that he has also rethought his vision of what Superman and the rest of the JLA should look like, but then again, maybe not.

We can also confirm what Frosty from Collider.com also mentioned, there will be a JLA member that will bite the dust. It won’t be Superman, Wonder Woman or Batman, hmm, so who could it be? I won’t spoil this movie so early on and of course drafts can always change but let’s just say that his death will be quick.

So why a JLA movie now? This is WB’s easiest way to introduce DC’s superheroes and depending on fan reaction it will also dictate which of the JLA members will get their stand alone films. We have been told this is the reason why Wonder Woman, the Flash and the Green Lantern have been put on the back burner and will not see any development until after the release of the Justice League film.

At the time of this publishing, our interview requests with McG have not been granted.

Levitz: Mentions the panel this evening. The braod picture is that they have development on almost every key piece of the DCU and Vertigo as well. Making these projects is insanely difficult. It was about 9.5 years between Batman & Robin and Batman Begins. It was worth the wait I think. We've just had a run of five movies we're really proud of from History of Violence to V for Vendetta to Batman Begins to Constantine to Superman Returns. We want to keep that run going. Sixth will be Dark Knight and I think that will blow you away.

We sit with about 10-15 projects working. We're just not going to start any of them until it's right. There's a lot of energy going into the Justice League movie right now. In conversations with who we think will be the right director. Watchmen is rolling. Zack Snyder is incredibly committed and working with Dave Gibbons on design work as well. The others will be ripe when they're ripe.

We're trying to do them right. We really will try not to press the button until everyone is convinced it can be a great movie

Bon, et bien comme je le disais dans un autre post, Georges Miller m'a vraiment étonné sur le film d'animation avec les pingouins, bourrés jusqu'à la gueule de plans de folies et d'idées de mise en scène géniales (VOYEZ LE !!!), donc c'est vraiment, vraiment une putain de bonne nouvelle !!!

Et puis voir tout ces superhéros réunis dans le même flick, ça va être mortel !!!

8: que les méchant seraient les Omacs, Mawell Lord et Talia hal Ghul .

9 Brandon Routh et Christian bale n'ont pas été approché.
la Warner a approché Tom Welling pour Superman ainsi que Ryan Reynolds pour Flash .on sait aussi que leur choix numéro 1 pour Batman est Ryan Gosling.

10(de Bloody )Que un Batman a été approché ( bah oui désolé Bloody ), que c'est un acteur relativement connu,(mais pas une star ) et "bad ass" que les specialistes du comics ont reconnu comme étant 'potentiellement meilleur que Bale' (mouais ?) ! Des infos que l'on a (meme si je vois pas le rapport avec le bad asss )il est trés possible que ce soit Ryan Gosling.

11 que Joseph Harris (American Gangster ) a essayé le role de Green Lantern/John Stewart

12 Variety a révélé que Jessica Biel est en pourparler pour Wonder Woman ,le site Dark horizon que Ivana Milicevic (Casino Royal) et Silvia Colloca aussi , et le site moviehole a également révélé que que Victoria Smith avait aussi lu pour le role.

le plus gros du film se tournera à Fox studios à Sydney et aura beaucoup de fond vert.
le directeur photo sera Dean semler(Danse avec les loups , Mad max 2 et 3 )
la direction artistique sera de Hugh Bateup et Damien Drew (la trilogie Matrix , Superman Returns)
